The Walls Still Hold a Tune

Aaaaah. Well, the more eagle-eyed will have noted we sort of fell off the world towards the end of last year.  Alas, real life got in the way, and ending up homeless and broke in some instances and hiding under a duvet in others meant that we were unable to record the album as planned.  Oh no, oh sadness, or tragedy…

OR…let’s say “these things happen” and move on.  And so we are…and we decided that our original album-launch date should become a celebration of resilience and joyfulness – so we’ve turned it into a charity fundraiser for those awesome folk over at Amnesty International.  The event, named “The Walls Still Hold a Tune”, so far features the headline act of Paul Miro, and us and…ooh, we cant tell you the others yet, we’re keeping them a secret until we announce them!  Tickets are available via the link on our gigs page.  Or here.  We look forward to seeing some of you there, for an acoustically-rocking good time for a most brilliant cause.

Here’s to 2015 rocking like it wants to.

2014 rocks

Hello, hello, hello!

We are here…back in song-writing mode, and planning an acoustic album. We’ve got a whole ton of new songs already which we can’t wait to share with you. That doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten Rick…hopefully there will be some acoustic AND electric gigs announced later in the year, so keep checking back.

We’ll be updating the website over the next month too as in our year off we know we haven’t done much with it…bear with us, we’re on it!

It’s great to be back, and we’re looking forward to powerpoppunkrocking out with you all soon.

Thank you London!

Wow!  What an absolutely amazing and fantastic time we had in London.  Thank you so much guys!  We had great fun rocking out and had loads of people tell us how much they enjoyed it too which really means the world to us.  Thank you!

If you couldn’t make it, there’s a lovely review and a couple of pictures from local music-blogger and all round good-guy (despite the name) the Dark Lord of Barnet which you can find here

And that, as they say in show biz, is us, for a while…we’re going to take a break now for a little while, so there won’t be any gigs for the rest of 2012 and *probably* none in 2013 (although we never say never!)…we REALLY hope that we’ll eventually be back with news of a second album.  We can’t promise anything, but the tunes leak out of our heads anyway, so we might as well record them…so stay tuned, and watch this space.

With massive love and thanks for all your support

Taz, Kate and Rick, Ultraxine 2012.

Album News

Hey everyone – great news!  Our debut album, “Taking Sweets From Strangers” is now officially OUT.  As we’ve previously mentioned, you can download it from ITunes or or Rhapsody or Napster or eMusic…and now we also have bright shiny disc versions too! Hurrah!

The discs are available for £10 if you stop us in the street and buy one (or more likely at a gig) or for £11.50 if you’d like us to post one direct to your door – just think of that – ten wondrous Ultraxine songs all  without having to leave the comfort of your own couch.  You can order the disc from the clever ‘buy it now’ widget on our MySpace and we’ll get an equally clever widget on this website as soon as possible.

In the mean time, feel free to use the button below for now…

Take care and rock muchly

Album News, Band News and General updating

Taking Sweets from Strangers; Ultraxine

‘Ello everyone!

Sorry it’s been a while since we posted any news up here – but we’ve been such busy bees that we don’t always remember to update everything. The BEST news is that our first album, “Taking Sweets From Strangers” is out now on, and will be out very shortly on iTunes AND as an actual-real hold-in-your-hand disc version too. As soon as WE have the discs in our hands, we will let you know how you can order one.

The sad news is that Rick has decided he is no longer able to drum for Ultraxine as he has lots of other musical endeavours and can not give us the full-time attention that he would like to. We thank him MUCHLY for his contribution to the album and we wish him well in his musical studies.

SO…we will be advertising for a drummer very shortly (anyone interested should drop us an email on but in the meantime we have been doing a few acoustic rehearsals, and plan to take the acousti-punk versions of our songs on the road over the next few months whilst we are temporarily drummer-less.

Don’t forget for more regular updates you can read our MySpace blog, which this week features the answer to a very important philosophical question. And also do check back here – now we’ve remembered we have a website we might actually remember to update it more often!

Take care and rock lots

Taz and Kate
