Alive and…SILENT?

Hello world!

We are still here, although of course you could be forgiven we had fallen off the edge of the World, we’ve just been having one of those busy times when various members of the band have been moving house, getting married and changing jobs with the result that we haven’t done all that much of a bandular nature.

…Although that’s not entirely true, because last August we hid ourselves in the (very sadly flooded) Blueberry Hills studio in Leeds and recorded a single.  We managed three tracks, and a video in one day.  The efficiency of which, Rick points out, is in stark contrast to the fact that it’s subsequently taken us a further half a year to mix the track and edit the video and do all that stuff that needs doing in order to get the tracks to your ears.  But the good news is that we are VERY NEARLY there, the single will be out…soon (hey, sorry it’s vague but we’re trying our best in our spare time here!).  The title track is called Silence…and we’ll let you know a bit more detail in our next update.

Love you all loads, hope you’ve been well in our absence…

Danger of Death – out soon!

We’re so excited!

We’ve now finished a long process of editing and sorting and refining and recording and can confirm that we now can see a light at the end of the tunnel!

Our new single, Danger of Death, will be released into the ether soon.  We’re also including 3 more brand new Ultraxine songs on the single.  This can only be described as “yay”!

We have spent a long long time getting everything perfect and we’ll be able to let you know a release date in the next few days.

We’re both totally happy with how it turned out and so excited to be able to share it with everyone!

Speak again soon!

Very excited Kate!!

April 2010

Well, well, well – what a month it’s been.  When we last left you, we were promising news of a new EP.  Sadly we have news of a different kind, in that drummer Micky P has vacated the ‘xine drum stool.  We were very sad to see him go, and wish him lots of success with his new ventures.  So, that sounds like the EP has been put on hold…doesn’t it?  Doesn’t it?  Well, there you are in fact wrong!  Mwahahaha.  At first Kate and Taz thought they might just record some of the new songs in the electro-acoustic style (more on that later) but it turns out that you’re still going to get a full-on electric head-banging new Ultraxine single.  “How is this possible?” we hear you ask.  Well, dear readers, you’ll never guess – but we’ve only gone and managed to coax our old drummer, good friend and all round great guy Rick ‘the dude’ Steckles out of his drumming retirement and back on to the drum stool to record the single with us.  Hurrah!  We’re not sure how many tracks we’ll get laid down yet, but rest assured that Danger of Death will be in your ears by the Summer, as originally planned.  Three cheers for Rick!

So we ARE searching for a permanent drummer, but you’ll not be without a new fix of ‘xine in the meantime.  AND, getting back to the electro-acousti madness, the girls have been rehearsing the songs without a drummer, and might just make an appearance (under a pseudonym) at a gig venue near you sometime soon.  Ooooooh, how mysterious…

We’ll keep you posted, as ever
