We had a brilliant time on stage on Saturday, playing with The Buddha Pests, Papersun and Betamax. There will be pictures to follow soon. We’re playing again this coming Saturday, 5th November, with the mighty GMT at the West Park Hotel, Harrogate. YAY!

Anyway, on to more awesome news worth shouting about!

We spent a few fun hours getting sunburned and nearly getting arrested, and making the below video for our song, Danger of Death! We hope you like it.

Thanks so much to the other bands, Chasing Dragons and Down The Machine for a fun night, and also thanks to our brilliant fans for coming down – helped make it a top night. Thanks guys!

The lovely Joel Rowbottom came down too and snapped us – and also presented us with some awesome badges!!!

We’ve now finished a long process of editing and sorting and refining and recording and can confirm that we now can see a light at the end of the tunnel!

Our new single, Danger of Death, will be released into the ether soon.  We’re also including 3 more brand new Ultraxine songs on the single.  This can only be described as “yay”!

We have spent a long long time getting everything perfect and we’ll be able to let you know a release date in the next few days.

We’re both totally happy with how it turned out and so excited to be able to share it with everyone!

]]> http://ultraxine.com/2010/11/danger-of-death-out-soon/feed/ 0 April 2010 http://ultraxine.com/2010/04/april-2010/ http://ultraxine.com/2010/04/april-2010/#comments Tue, 06 Apr 2010 08:23:21 +0000 taz http://ultraxine.com/?p=151 Well, well, well – what a month it’s been.  When we last left you, we were promising news of a new EP.  Sadly we have news of a different kind, in that drummer Micky P has vacated the ‘xine drum stool.  We were very sad to see him go, and wish him lots of success with his new ventures.  So, that sounds like the EP has been put on hold…doesn’t it?  Doesn’t it?  Well, there you are in fact wrong!  Mwahahaha.  At first Kate and Taz thought they might just record some of the new songs in the electro-acoustic style (more on that later) but it turns out that you’re still going to get a full-on electric head-banging new Ultraxine single.  “How is this possible?” we hear you ask.  Well, dear readers, you’ll never guess – but we’ve only gone and managed to coax our old drummer, good friend and all round great guy Rick ‘the dude’ Steckles out of his drumming retirement and back on to the drum stool to record the single with us.  Hurrah!  We’re not sure how many tracks we’ll get laid down yet, but rest assured that Danger of Death will be in your ears by the Summer, as originally planned.  Three cheers for Rick!

So we ARE searching for a permanent drummer, but you’ll not be without a new fix of ‘xine in the meantime.  AND, getting back to the electro-acousti madness, the girls have been rehearsing the songs without a drummer, and might just make an appearance (under a pseudonym) at a gig venue near you sometime soon.  Ooooooh, how mysterious…
