Recording our first Album

Here are some snapshots back from 2008, whilst we were recording our first album, Taking Sweets from Strangers!

preparing demos to be sent to Bernie before we record the album
Kate (on left, guitarring) whilst Rick records the final guitar lines for the album demos
Taz recording the Glockenspiel lines in “Butterflies”
Bernie’s Mixing Desk at Barnroom Studios – Bernie’s guitar, tea, pro tools and a heck of a lot of wires
Only recording the important things of course
Listening back to the first mix, whilst staying in the holiday cottage next door to Barnroom Studios
Rick laying down the drums for the album – including THE cowbell
Kate and the Pink and Purple hair in the sunshine whilst in the studio
On the first night, we went to find food in the pub, there was no food, but we found The Street instead.
The cash, coffee, tea and drugs we required to keep us going for a week whilst recording an album
Rick working on some important documents
Bernie’s mixing desk – whilst we were trying to remove the most pervasive cowbell which went into ALL the mics
because all you need in the world is a set of recording headphones and a rock and roll glockenspiel
The best game in the history of games, PIPPO!
Kate was wearing the most cheerful socks whilst the recording was taking place!
The Xine – always up to something…
The master album to take home and listen to!
The album is finished! Thank you so much Bernie – we loved working with you and hearing your tales of your rock and roll life!
